Performative Sociology
For the research and observation phases around 72HUA Lobeda, we are collaborating with the Sociology Department at Jena University to invite students to explore the district and create accessible observations on social life in the quarter.
Robert Jende leads the seminar outside of the university walls and into the neighborhood. Jende has coined the term "Performative Sociology", which will be employed by students to explore the potential of activities such as the 72HUA festival for civic life in Lobeda.
Students of the "Performative Sociology" seminar will contribute to a one-off Lobeda Fanzine that will include portraits and descriptions of the district to support the international teams when they arrive on site for the festival in May.
Following the completion of the festival action on the selected sites, the seminar students will write observational essays that will be collected in a small publication.
